+ h+ S- {+ x7 I, qPosition requires a senior mechanical design engineer who is experienced in the design and packaging of ruggedized embedded computer systems for military and aerospace applications. The candidate will be responsible for the design, documentation and production support of electro-mechanical components and systems per specific customer requirements. Within Aitech’s small company environment, the senior mechanical engineer’s role is a combination of leadership, mentoring, and hands on performance of the mechanical engineering tasks. 3D solid modeling techniques using Autodesk Inventor? and proficiency using AutoCAD? is required. Knowledge of material properties and finishes applicable to the design of electronic packaging components is a must. # d" z, _. _( g R; Z
2 w- X# T f! h2 C: \Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5M-1994 practices
; V5 j8 V4 t+ i5 j( b5 k. U/ CWorking knowledge of the creation and control of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) per DOD-D-1000 and MIL-STD-100 ( w! ?" E: F T j5 {
Working knowledge of military, ANSI/ASME and IPC specifications
8 l' {) w. p% Z$ D y; H: o" qDirect experience in the design, analysis, and qualification testing of electronic packaging in avionics applications 2 C" n# R- F* c% x8 x4 r
Direct experience in the specification and control of Printed Wiring Board artwork process and fabrication required 3 \ {# F- I2 P @2 `8 J! G" o
Prepare and present customer presentations, and participate in face to face customer discussions and negotiations regarding complex technologies + ^$ s$ @7 D: I2 L/ \) j
Develop technical solutions derived from technology building blocks
! N f+ [, n( _0 V' J0 qLead special Research & Development project activities or investigations within the Mechanical Engineering discipline. ; b4 q2 z. V: g
Working knowledge of Document Control and Configuration Management procedures
! B; g0 V7 `+ |+ }Working knowledge of sheet metal and machine shop practices is a plus
! o2 g2 y; B; B8 {! ^- t; C: RManage technical sub-contracts
# b; i& Z8 ?, V8 a cStrong communication skills
1 \& S0 @4 J: B8 gIndependent worker who can operate in a small company environment ; T W1 a' n4 m7 F. N9 n. z9 b
Use project scheduling tools to estimate the total cost of a development program : d m4 b% n7 _/ K
Coordinate activities of engineers within the Engineering Department and/or across Aitech programs and projects
* l$ r. D9 p: G5 Z! @. dManage and prioritize multiple simultaneous activities
7 H( O9 p8 V- a$ `; b) tSuccessful candidate will have and be proficient with Microsoft Office tools

BS ME (and/or equivalent experience) with MS desired/ Z$ a$ [( }' W" d4 S

Position requires an engineer with a diverse background in the mechanical packaging of electronic circuitry for the development of embedded computer systems. |
