The process we use for measuring external thread length is as follows:

7 v, [8 X1 P7 o# U! j' N( @1.  Measure the pitch diameter for the entire length of the threaded component with a ring gauge to ensure it is within spec.   

( W# G: r3 O. H/ t  L2 p- y  f2.  With an optical comparator, measure the reference surface to the furthest "measurable" basic pitch diameter away from the reference surface.  Take the measurement from the flank opposite the reference surface as shown in the figure below.

3 e% {2 D' x: m( y" I5 K. i外螺紋是很容易測(cè)準(zhǔn)確的，關(guān)鍵是在于內(nèi)螺紋，我們也遇到這個(gè)問(wèn)題，要求螺紋深度公差0.1，用螺紋塞規(guī)測(cè)是需要減去前面半個(gè)不完整牙。但這也達(dá)不到測(cè)量精度，我們也還在繼續(xù)思考中。加退刀槽是不到腦筋的，能加還不早加了。
